The perfect cure for vertical video syndrome, Horizon Camera, gets even better with a new update

A great third-party option to Apple’s standard Camera app has just received another nice update.

As suggested by the name, Horizon Camera focuses on making awkward vertical videos (and photos) a thing of the past. No matter how you hold your device, the app will record in horizontal orientation – even while holding your device is a vertical position.

And version 3.1 of the app is highlighted by a new iOS 8 Notification Center widget. You can launch the app directly from the Today screen to shoot a video or image and even start recording automatically.

With the new Facebook Messenger support, simply tap on the Messenger icon after shooting a video or image to share it using the service.

The automatic photo orientation function automatically selects the right orientation based on how your iOS device is being held. Also the smooth focus during video recording feature is now available for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Horizon Camera is universal and designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. With an in-app purchase of $1.99, users can unlock the premium tier with a number of other features like 60 fps video recording, slow-motion video, and 2K video support.
