Celebrate the 6th 'Birthdayz' of Plants vs. Zombies with this sequel update
Exactly six years ago, Plants vs. Zombies came to life. Now, in honor of the popular lane defense game franchise’s sixth anniversary, PopCap has released a celebratory “Birthdayz” update for Plants vs. Zombies 2.
First and foremost, the update ushers in a 10-day Birthdayz event running from today, May 5, through Thursday next week, May 14. This event features guaranteed gems with every win, eight zombies unknowingly dressed to be killed, and five collectible costumes: party hats for Cabbage-pult and Lightning Reed, bow ties on Bonk Choy, Kernel-pult’s blowout, and cupcakes on Snapdragon’s head.
The update also offers a gift to each player of Plants vs. Zombies 2 in the form of a free world key. That’s one fewer fight with the Gargantuar you have to win in order to obtain a key to unlock a new world.

The new version of Plants vs. Zombies 2 also introduces the Travel Log. Currently in beta, this new feature highlights recommended destinations and encourages you to complete quests to earn points and prizes.
According to PopCap’s parent company, Electronic Arts, Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been downloaded more than 100 million times and has resulted in an average of 9.5 million unique game sessions daily since its release on iOS in August 2013.
Earlier this year, the game received updates that introduced parts one and two of Frostbite Caves and the “Springening” event.
