Scanbot update brings a new iPad layout, support for iCloud Photo Library and more

One of our favorite iOS document scanning apps, Scanbot, has just received another nice update with the move to version 3.8.

The most notable addition is support for iCloud Photo Library. A new UI for iPad users also offers a flexible layout that works in all orientations.

With the new sharing UI, you can quickly share a PDF, images, or text. Images can also be directly uploaded to Evernote.

Scanbot is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

The Pro feature set can be unlocked with an in-app purchase of $4.99. Along with a number of new features in the update, pro users can take advantage of text recognition support in more than 60 languages, colorful themes, smart file naming, document editing, and more.

Just last month, our own Joe White pitted Scanbot against PDFpen Scan+ in an AppAdvice App Smackdown. You can read more about Scanbot and find out what app took home the title in the head-to-head battle.

I’ve tried out a number of similar apps, but I’ve always returned back to Scanbot. The quick scanning capability, integration with a number of cloud services, and 200 dpi and higher scan quality makes it a winner.
