Hit the ground running with the updated Runkeeper app
The popular, and powerful, fitness tracker Runkeeper has just received a nice update to version 6.0.
While you can obviously use the app to track runs, it can be used for other exercise like cycling or indoor cardio workouts.
Press startThe majority of the changes in the update are skin deep. But that’s a good thing. Even before you open up the app, you can see that the icon has been slightly revamped. And in the app itself, you’ll see a new color scheme, different illustrations, and other graphic elements that look great.
But probably the biggest change is the completely new start screen. You can quickly and easily do things like set a pace, time, or distance target run, access your music, and more.
The app can also be used on an Apple Watch as an alternative to the stock Workout tracker. You can view all of your vital stats on the wearable device. Here’s an interactive preview from our sister site WatchAware.
I’ve been using the Runkeeper watch app since it landed back in April. Definitely try it out if you’re looking for a change of pace, so to speak. WrapupRunkeeper is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
With an in-app purchase of $9.99 per month or $39.99 per year, you can unlock a subscription to Runkeeper Go. Some of the features for subscribers include prescribed workouts, premium training plans, lifetime insights, and live broadcasting of runs.
