Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past gets a nice update and price drop
If you’re looking for a fun game to play this weekend, we’ve definitely got a great suggestion.
Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past, originally released last year to tie-in with the movie of the same name, has just received a big update to version 1.3 and dropped in price to just $0.99. It was previously $4.99.
The fun action platformer allows gamers to play as Wolverine, Storm, Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Cyclops, Polaris, or Scarlet Witch as the X-Men attempt to save the future and all mutants.
Our own Christine Chan enjoyed the game in her original review:
I am loving the visual style that they decided to go with in this game. Rather than go with a 3-D world and movie-like visuals, the game decided to go with the origins and feature a comic book-style graphic style. If you grew up with the X-Men comics, then this should definitely be welcoming. The environments are incredibly rich and detailed, and even all character sprites (the mutants, Sentinels, and various homo-sapiens) look fantastic. Animations are smooth and fluid when you play. The soundtrack is quite adventure-packed and should get your blood pumping for the tough journey that awaits you. The sounds are fun as well, giving you a sense of satisfaction once you beat down those thugs as Wolverine, or even Colossus.
And with the recent update, GlitchSoft has added a number of new features along with extending and re-balancing some of the gameplay. Most importantly, the new world map lays out the entire story for gamers to view. Each different node of the map offers a set of levels to complete with new objectives tied to completion with every playable character.
Other improvements include new playable areas, improved character physics and enemy AI, redesigned mutant ability trees, a new level-up system, and more difficult opponents.
Even if you’re not a huge fan of the comic books or movie series, the game’s story line is compelling, and it’s a blast to play. And with the new lower price, now is definitely the time to download it.
Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini.
