Readdle’s stable of productivity apps receive timely updates for iOS 9
One of our favorite developers of productivity apps, Readdle, is definitely ready for iOS 9. The company has just announced that many of its apps have received some nice updates for the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS, which officially landed yesterday.
First up, Scanner Pro has been updated to version 6.1. As the name suggests, the app turns your iOS device into a portable scanner. With the update, all iOS 9 users can now take advantage of Spotlight support along with the Slide Over and Spilt View features on the iPad. Users can now also scan color documents and password protect their PDF documents.
Speaking of PDFs, PDF Expert 5 has jumped to version 5.5. The PDF annotation app now supports the Split View functionality and Spotlight search in iOS 9. Readdle has also added new drawing tools to fill out figures with color and a new file merging mechanism to merge files and PDF forms into one PDF. You can download it for $9.99.
Also, Documents 5 – which combines a document viewer, file manager, and media player into one package – has been updated to version 5.5.0. Along with being able to search for your files using Spotlight, the app has been updated to support the Split View feature for applicable iPads. It can be downloaded for free.
While the updates to those three apps are already live in the App Store, three more title updates have been submitted to Apple and should be available to download soon.
The well-designed and powerful email client Spark will add a number of features requested by users. You’ll be able to select a default email account to send from, the ability to show or hide calendars, and customize quick replies with custom graphics. It’s only for the iPhone/iPod touch and can be downloaded now for free.
Readdle is promising an iPad and Mac version of the client soon. Currently, Apple Watch users can take advantage of the app to handle their email deluge directly from the wearable device. Here’s an interactive preview of that app from our sister site WatchAware.
