Anyone can see your iPhone 6s Live Photos with the new Live GIF app
At least for me, the Live Photos feature of the iPhone 6s is one of the best reasons to upgrade to Apple’s latest handset. As you probably know, along with the actual image, the feature captures a second and a half of movement and sound before and after the photo is taken.
On the new handsets, you can bring the Live Photos to life by pressing down on the image. It can also be used as a wallpaper on your iPhone or even the Apple Watch. And while only the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus can capture Live Photos, the images can be viewed on other Apple devices – including the Mac.
But a new app, Live GIF, is designed to help users share their Live Photos with pretty much anyone.
As suggested by the name, the app can convert Live Photos into either an animated GIF or a video. The results can be shared via a number of different outlets like Facebook, iMessage, Twitter, email, Instagram, and more.
The app is extremely easy and quick to use. After opening, you’ll be greeted with all of the Live Photos on your device. You’ll need to pick the one you’d like to convert and then select to share as a video or GIF.
And Live GIF also fully supports 3D Touch technology on the new handsets. Selecting the app icon will show a Quick Action to automatically convert the last Live Photo into a GIF. Inside the app, you can quickly preview the Live Photos with the Peek and Pop gestures.
Designed for the iPhone, Live GIF can be downloaded now on the App Store for $1.99. As a reminder, you’ll need an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus to capture Live Photos. The app is highly recommended. It does exactly what it advertises, and is a perfect solution to share Live Photos with more than just Apple fans.
