Your phone number gets smart with a new Burner update
In today’s world – with privacy at a premium – Burner can be a lifesaver. The concept of the app is powerful but simple.
You receive a special phone number with a preferred area code. Anyone you call or text using the app will see the burner phone number. When someone calls the number, it will connect normally to your phone. Text messages will remain in the app.
The number can be kept for as long as you want or burned at anytime.
Making connectionsAnd the app is taking a huge step forward with an update to version 3.2. The new Burner Connections feature allows users to link their phone number with four different popular apps – Dropbox, Slack, Evernote, and Soundcloud.
First up, with Slack, you can set up a phone number to automatically forward text messages to a specific channel. Anyone in the channel can then reply to the message quickly and easily.
After connecting to Dropbox, users can automatically archive voicemails and picture messages to take a look at later. You can use Evernote to create text auto-replies from specific notes. Finally, the Soundcloud integration will automatically post voicemails to your profile page on the service.

The update also brings support for the advanced Spotlight search feature in iOS 9 so users can find Burner message content without needing to open up the app itself. You can now also set a custom background photo for each burner line, which should make it easier to keep track of different numbers.
Wrap-upBurner is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now for for free. You’ll receive a burner number for free during a trial period. With an in-app purchase of $4.99 per month, you can keep the number indefinitely and be able to receive unlimited calls, texts, and picture messages. You can also purchase single-use credits.
