Apple and app developer Supercell join forces for a World AIDS Day campaign
With World AIDS Day scheduled for tomorrow, Dec. 1, Apple and app developer Supercell have joined forces for a great new campaign.
An in-app purchase for a worthy causeThree of the developer’s hugely popular games – Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, and Hay Day – will offer a special in-app purchase until 8 a.m. PST on Friday, Dec. 4. In Clash of Clans, you can buy the (Pile of Gems)RED pack. Boom Beach players can look for the (Pile of Diamonds)RED pack while the special offer is called a (Bag of Diamonds)RED pack in Hay Day. Each pack is $4.99.
All three apps are designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
Every cent of the proceeds from the in-app purchases will go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS. Gamers will also receive a limited-time decorative item to show their support.
Other ways to support the Global AIDS FundEarlier today, Apple also unveiled a Product Red leather case for both the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The iPhone 6s case is $45 while the case for the larger handset is $4 more. Both can now be purchased from Apple’s site and should be available at your local Apple Store.
Apple also offers a number of other accessories to help support the cause, including a red Apple Watch Sport Band and silicone case for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
