Apple’s in-store Personal Pickup comes to Canada and Australia
Apple has just expanded its Personal Pickup service beyond the U.S. and into a couple of additional countries.
As reported by MacRumors, the in-store order pickup option, which has for years been available in the U.S., is now available in Canada and Australia. This means that customers in “the true north” and in the land down under can now opt to pick up their online orders at their preferred Apple retail stores rather than having them shipped to their addresses.
To avail yourself of the Personal Pickup service, just select the pickup option and choose the Apple retail store where you want to pick up your order when purchasing products from Apple’s online store on the Web or through the official Apple Store on iOS devices.
If the item you’re ordering is out of stock at your chosen store, you can have it shipped there for pickup. Either way you’ll receive an email when your order is ready for you to collect. You can also have someone else pick it up in case you’re unavailable or if the product you’re ordering is intended as a gift.
Personal Pickup is expected to also become available soon in several more countries including France and the U.K., following its expansion into Canada and Australia.
This is already the second significant development that Apple has made happen this week in Canada and Australia. In partnership with American Express, the company has just launched Apple Pay in Canada and is scheduled to debut the mobile payment service in Australia on Thursday, Nov. 19.
