BuyVia launches Personal Shopper in time for the holiday shopping season
BuyVia prides itself in being the first Web and mobile service to highlight popular deals from local and online shops across multiple devices. Now, BuyVia is claiming another first with the release of its latest app.
How it differs
Aptly called Personal Shopper, the app is said to be the first app to function as a concierge and a social shopping assistant.
You see, most deals apps, including the main BuyVia app itself, work by showing you discounts and offers on products that you may or may not be interested in. But Personal Shopper is unique in that it pushes out deals that are in accordance with your set parameters as those deals become available.
How it works
To help you find the best bargain, Personal Shopper first needs to know what you need. In the app, you can enter something like, “I want to buy a reliable back-to-school laptop,” provides specifics such as “Dell, 14-inch screen, Windows 10,” and set your maximum price, say, at $200.
Your set of parameters is then saved as a challenge for BuyVia’s team of shopping experts to conquer. And you’ll receive an email alert once a deal from a local or online store that meets your criteria is found.
How it lets other shoppers help out
BuyVia’s professional shoppers aren’t the only one who can help you find the best price on that thing you want. Personal Shopper also allows your fellow shoppers to find a match for your challenge and in return for their efforts they will accumulate points that can be redeemed for prizes ranging from movie tickets to electronic gadgets.
Of course, this means that you too can help other shoppers find deals and you too can earn points in exchange for prizes. Just look for the Shopping Challenges in the Personal Shopper app.
How to get it
Designed for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 8.0 or later, Personal Shopper is available now on the App Store for free.
It’s currently listed under the Catalogs category, but it will likely be moved to the recently launched Shopping category, where it’s better suited.
In any case, Personal Shopper is a must-have for shoppers who don’t have the time or patience for comparing prices and searching for coupons for the products they want, and for shoppers who do have the time or patience to help other shoppers
find the best bargains.
And it arrives in time for the holiday shopping season.
