Drive while listening to Deezer Music, now with support for Apple's CarPlay
The popular podcast app Stitcher was updated with support for CarPlay shortly after it was acquired by the pioneering music streaming service Deezer in October last year.
Now, the official iOS app of Deezer itself has been updated to integrate with Apple’s automobile dashboard standard.
Deezer goes driving
As a result, you can now link your iPhone to your CarPlay-compatible vehicle to access Deezer’s catalog of more than 35 million songs while you drive.
With your hands on the wheel, your eyes on the road, and Deezer on CarPlay, you can easily listen to various songs, albums, artists and playlists, and play a Mix channel based on your mood. You can also go with the Flow to discover new music and hear your favorite tracks, and customize how Flow works for you by using the like and dislike buttons in the player. Access to music in offline mode is also available with Deezer on CarPlay.
Not available to all Deezer users
Unfortunately, CarPlay integration is not offered by Deezer to all of its users, since it’s available to the service’s Premium+ and Elite subscribers only.
Compatible with iOS 7.1 or later, CarPlay support is rolling out today through the latest update to Deezer Music for iOS, which is free to download from the App Store.
Of course, Deezer isn’t the first music streaming service to be integrated with CarPlay, as it now joins Spotify, Pandora, and the soon-to-be defunct Rdio in the list of apps that work with the standard.
Other third-party apps that are along for the ride on CarPlay include Audible, Audiobooks.com, CBS Radio News, iHeartRadio, MLB.com At Bat, and Overcast.
