The Remote app now works with the new Apple TV
One of the most bothersome issues with the new Apple TV has been fixed in tvOS 9.1, which landed earlier today.
You can now use Apple’s official Remote app with the revamped device. Using the app, you can navigate around the different menus and apps. Most importantly, users can also enter log-in and password information directly from an iPhone or iPad. That’s much easier than using the included Siri Remote.
Just to note, to use the Remote app with the fourth-generation streaming device, you will need to turn the Home Sharing functionality on. That can be done by heading to Settings, Accounts, and then Home Sharing.
Apple Watch users can even control their Apple TV directly from the wearable device.
