You can now enjoy your Spotify music with lyrics from Musixmatch
At long last, my most-awaited update to Musixmatch has arrived.
As a longtime subscriber of Spotify, I’ve always wanted to be able to quickly and easily view — and sing along to — the lyrics of songs I play on the popular music streaming service — without having to Google them. And I’ve always thought that Musixmatch would be the perfect match for that.
And now, I’m delighted to learn and report that Musixmatch has risen to the occasion.
Connect Musixmatch with Spotify
Thanks to its latest update, which brings the app to version 6.0, Musixmatch is now able to connect with Spotify, link its huge catalog of lyrics to the music streaming service’s huge collection of music, and present them seamlessly on mobile. (Spotify has been offering Musixmatch lyrics on desktop since February.)

To start getting Musixmatch lyrics for your Spotify music, just connect your Spotify Premium account in the updated Musixmatch app. Then, you can stream your favorite tracks, your saved playlists, and the rest of Spotify’s library with synced lyrics right within Musixmatch.
No need to play music first in the Spotify app and then open the Musixmatch app. Everything’s done within Musixmatch, which effectively acts as a lyrics-enabled Spotify client.
Note that Musixmatch’s Spotify integration doesn’t work (at least not yet) with Musixmatch’s Today widget, which remains exclusive to tracks played from Apple Music.
Send a holiday-themed LyricsCard
Aside from Spotify integration, Musixmatch 6.0 features LyricsCard themes suitable for sending this holiday season.
Just tap the ellipsis button in Musixmatch’s player, select Create LyricsCard, tap Images, and choose from any of the five holiday themes, in addition to the already existing non-seasonal themes. Once you’re finished customizing your LyricsCard, tap Share to send it to a special someone via Facebook, Instagram, and other social media channels.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 8.0 or later, the Spotify-ready Musixmatch 6.0 is available now on the App Store for free.
