An Amazon Prime membership is dropping to just $73 this weekend
Amazon is in the mood to celebrate. To honor two recent wins at the 73rd Annual Golden Globes by its series “Mozart in the Jungle,” the retailing giant is dropping a subscription to Amazon Prime to $73 for this weekend only. It’s usually $99.
The deal is only available to new members and will start on Friday, Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. PT and conclude at 11:59 p.m. local time on Sunday, Jan. 17. You’ll need to head here to sign up.
While the headline perk is free, two-day shipping on items from the retailing giant, our own Sandy Stachowiak took a great look at some of the other iOS-centric features like Prime Music, Instant Video, and much more.
Along with the great deal, Amazon will allow users to stream both the first and second season of the TV series for free this weekend. The complete list of compatible Amazon Video devices can be found here and includes the free Amazon Video app available to download on the App Store now for free. It’s compatible with the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models.
Using the new Amazon Fire TV or other compatible TV sets, the series can also be viewed in 4K resolution.
The series won the 2016 Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy Series. Star Gael Garcia Bernal won the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series.
Another popular Amazon series, “Transparent,” won in the same categories back in 2015.
