Apple looks set to further blur the lines between iOS and OS X with the release of Mountain Lion.

Notification Center is great, but it's even more fun once it's been customized. Though we've seen countless widgets and even tweaks that let you change Notification Center's background color, one upcoming tweak promises to add a little more sparkle to everyone's favorite iOS 5 feature.

A new jailbreak tweak called NCControl allows users to enable and view Notification Center, while also interacting with whatever iOS app they had previously launched.

If you want to spice-up Notification Center, consider downloading and installing NCColors. This new jailbreak tweak allows users to customize the appearance of iOS 5's Notification Center using RGB sliders and the results, as you can see in the above image, aren't half bad.

Ipsum is a new jailbreak tweak that allows users to easily dismiss Lock screen notifications with a double-swipe.

Another Notification Center widget to come to our attention is "FavoriteContacts." Once downloaded, this handy tweak (which is available to download in the Cydia Store for one dollar) adds the contacts listed in the "Favorites" section of users' Phone app to iOS 5's Notification Center.

A new Notification Center tweak called "WeeRadio" has just been released. Once downloaded, the package adds a widget to Notification Center that allows users to stream Internet radio on an iOS device.

Notification Center arrives with iOS 5. You can add any app to Notification Center by going into the Settings app. Apple turns off the Mail app by default, but we find it is worthwhile to turn that one on. You can choose to have your apps show you notifications ONLY inside Notification Center. Having a central place for all of your notifications is really quite handy. Apple has tweaked the Notification Center gesture in iOS 5 beta 3. Now, when users are in a full-screen iOS app, a swipe-down from the top of the iPhone's screen will instead reveal a "hook," instead of revealing Notification Center in full. If you want to access Notification Center, simply drag down on the hook once it appears.
