In March 2017, Apple introduced us to Clips, an upcoming new app that combines video, photos and more. At the time, all Cupertino could tell us was that the app was coming sometime in April. According to Lauren Goode at The Verge, that “sometime” is today, April 6.

Edited: Clips is now live on the iOS App Store, so go get it.

Within Apple’s Clips, you’ll be able to combine your videos, photos, and music into creations you can share with friends through the Message app or on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, and other popular social networks. The app also includes a feature called Live Titles, animated captions and titles you make using just your voice. There are also comic book filters, speech bubbles, shapes, and full-screen animated posters.

Getting Clips on Your iPhone

When Apple’s Clips app releases to the App Store later today, it will be a free download. You do, however, need to have iOS 10.3 or later installed. If you haven’t already upgraded, now is the time. Just go to Settings > General > Software Update to get going. Then, later today, head over to the App Store to download Clips.
