What are you to do when your brakes turn out to be busted? In Ketchapp’s Busted Brakes, you make do with what you have. And what you have is a one-tap control system that lets you collect coins and other loot and, more pertinent to your survival, lets you avoid hitting things that could get your vehicle totaled. It’s going to be one heck of a ride.
A vertically scrolling endless driving game, Busted Brakes takes you on a wild and bumpy ride as you control a wobbly vehicle with the titular impairment. Along the way, while trying not to hit something solid like a building or another vehicle, you can run into coins and other shiny stuff that you can use later on. It’s just unfortunate that you can’t take the scenic route on this destructive drive.
Watch where you’re going
You just have to hold on the screen to make your vehicle turn left. When your finger is off the screen, your vehicle continuously swerves to the right. So you need to hold on the screen again and again, as necessary, to make your vehicle turn left and thereby keep it on the right path. That’s not so confusing, right? Remember that you need to collect coins, gems, and other things to expand your garage. More importantly, you need to avoid hitting buildings and other vehicles — or your vehicle gets wrecked and it’s game over.
Drive the ride of your dreams — or nightmares
Busted Brakes features a collection of unique vehicles for you to unlock and select from, including cars, bikes, helicopters, and more. It also boasts unique quests per vehicle along with lots of achievements and tasks. There are special power-ups that you can use to get you out of tight situations and help you last longer in the game.
Keep a weather eye on
Busted Brakes boasts dynamically changing environments for your vehicles to go through. This means that as you play, the day may gradually turn into night, making it harder to see what’s ahead, and the weather may go from being clear to having low visibility brought about by a sudden sandstorm. Dynamic changes, dynamic challenges.
Like most other games from Ketchapp, Busted Brakes makes for quick pick-up-and-play sessions especially with its dead simple one-tap controls. And as an endless driving game, it offers a wide variety of vehicles with an abundance of quests, and perhaps more notably, it features dynamically changing environments that make each session different and exciting. It also boasts colorful blocky graphics and suitably wacky music and sound effects.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Busted Brakes is available now on the App Store for free, with in-app purchases for in-game currency and ad removal.
Busted Brakes is published by Ketchapp, which was acquired by Ubisoft in September
