The power of your voice can do amazing things. It can show your mood, personality, and opinion. Now, with just a laugh you can create space art. #Laugh is a new app where you create a star that might just be printed on a 3D printer aboard the International Space Station.
The idea and story behind #Laugh is an interesting one:
The project began in 2014, when Eyal Gever, the renowned digital artist took a phone call from Made in Space – the NASA contractor founded in 2010 with the goal of “enabling humanity’s future in space” – in which he was offered the opportunity to become the first artist to make art in space.- #Laugh by Eyal Gever
In response, the project was born and thus #Laugh was created. And the result?
People from all around the world can record themselves laughing, visualize it via an #Laugh app and share it with their friends. The laughter with the most likes after one month will be sent to the International Space Station to be 3D-printed and then released into orbit.- #Laugh by Eyal Gever
Create your star
Choose your shape, begin recording, and create an amazing star. You can choose from five designs when you begin. If you are happy with your creation, you can then publish it for all to see. You can also share it with your friends.
Explore other stars
With a tap you can view and hear creations by others. If you find a favorite, you can like or share it. You can also spin, twist, and turn the stars you see so that you can check out all sides.
If you are curious and would like a chance at having your star printed in space, take a look at #Laugh. The star with the most likes by Dec. 31 at midnight will be the lucky winner. The app is available for free on App Store with no in-app purchases.
