Cube Escape: The Cave Is The Penultimate Quirky Puzzler From Rusty Lake
If you’ve been playing one of the last eight games set in the fictional town of Rusty Lake, know that you’ve got two more titles left before the series ends, including Cube Escape: The Cave.
Cube Escape: The Cave, then, is the penultimate entry in the franchise, and the ninth in the series. It should launch in the next couple of weeks according to the developer, Rusty Lake, who sat down with Trevor Sheridan at the Game Developers Conference last week in San Francisco.
The two-person developer team only planned for two games originally, but the compelling and macabre storylines have taken on a life of their own. Cube Escape: The Cave takes place at an as-yet unexplored area of Rusty Lake. Players of the previous games will recognize the point-and-click adventure style. There’s all-new hand-drawn artwork that you can explore, too. Your time will dive deeper into the “detectives” storyline as well as the over-arching plot of the Cube Escape games as a whole. It’s a ton of fun to see items and characters from the other games as they reprise their roles in a brand new setting with fresh puzzles.
