A big name has become part of Apple’s upcoming single sign-on feature for iOS and tvOS. DirecTV, with 20 million subscribers, becomes the largest provider to date to support the feature, which goes live before the end of the year.

First introduced in September, single sign-on allows you to enter cable or satellite credentials in one place and access all of the available apps in your subscription package. The first developer beta for single sign-on launched earlier this month. At the time, it included four supported TV providers, Dish Network, Sling TV, GVTC Communications, and Hotwire.

Tying all of this together is the upcoming TV app for iOS and tvOS. The new app, which also launches in December, helps to unify the TV watching experience, allowing users to see all the shows and movies you’re watching, find upcoming episodes, and get personalized recommendations on what to watch next.
