GarageBand for iOS Update Brings a New Sound Library and More
Apple’s music creation app GarageBand has just been updated with a number of great new features.
Multi-touch gestures will allow users to bend and pluck strings more realistically.
The most notable new addition is the GarageBand Sound Library. That brings a number od different free sound packs with instruments and loops that can be downloaded by music creators.
Some of the initial packs include Future Bass, Reggaeton, Beat Sequencer kits, and guitar amp tones. Apple promises to add more periodically. You can also receive alerts when new packs are added.
Another new feature is the Beat Sequencer. Taking inspiration from classic drum machines, you can chooses sounds from a number of different classic and modern drum kits in a number of different genres.
Version 2.3 of the app also introduces new touch instruments including the Japanese Koto and Taiko Drums, and Chinese Guzheng.
Finally, the Drummers section now sports three new styles – Pop, Songwriter, and Latin. Each one has a signature percussion kit.
GarageBand is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
