Google Maps Adds Photorealistic View Of Almost 100 Popular Landmarks Worldwide
Google has just announced three new features arriving in the popular navigation app Google Maps.
First up, the app is adding photorealistic aerial view of almost 100 of the world’s most popular landmarks in cities like Barcelona, London, San Francisco, and Tokyo.
To see a 3D aerial view where available, search for a landmark in the app and then go to the Photos section.
The app is also adding new location sharing notifications. That will give more information for someone who has already chosen to share their location with you.
Finally, the app is adding new cycling route information. Some of the new details include the elevation and if you’ll be encountering heavy car traffic, stairs, or steep hills. It will also provide a detailed breakdown of the route itself so you can see where you’ll be biking.
The aerial view of landmarks and location sharing notifications are being rolled out now. The cycling route information will launch “in the coming weeks.”
Google Maps is a free download for the iPhone and all iPad models.
