Google Photos 2 Makes Live Photos Smoother
In a nice update today, users of the Google Photos app on iOS can finally get rid of the shakes and shimmies in their live photos with the new Google Photos 2 app. In addition, there are a couple of new features that make the app just a bit more flexible.

Now, using advanced stabilization and rendering, you can make your Live Photos smoother and more shareable in just a tap. Google Photos can freeze the background in your Live Photos or create sweeping cinematic pans, turning your Live Photos into beautiful, captivating moments. Easily save it as a looping video and share it with anyone.
- Google Photos on the App StoreThe “advanced stabilization and rendering” was used originally in Google’s Motion Stills app. Released just a few months ago the app is handy for users to create GIFs from live photos on Apple devices.
In addition to helping you make your live photos better, the app has been updated with the ability to sort photos in your albums by oldest first, newest first, or those added recently.
You can also now pick a new thumbnail for faces in the People album.
Google Photos for iPhone and iPad along with Motion Stills for iPhone are each available for free on the App Store.
If you do not see the updates to your Google Photos app, make sure that you have the latest version, again, released today.
