The age of the iPhone makes it a snap to take a picture and capture that special moment in time. But many of us probably have boxes and boxes of old images and videos sitting in a closet collecting dust.

The Relive.AI will use a number of different attributes to look for memorable images.

The Relive.AI will use a number of different attributes to look for memorable images.

To help bring those memories into the digital age, Legacy Republic is one of the first companies to join the Google Photos Partner Program announced earlier this week at Google I/O.

The Memory Makeover service will be integrated with Google Photos later this year. It works like this. You’ll receive a special kit from Legacy Republic and then place all of your photo prints, slides, negatives, and home movies to send off.

In select locations, there will be in-home services for scrapbook and photo albums.

With images, a special AI, will curate some of the most meaningful moments. Called Relive.AI, the technology will look for human emotion, image objects and framing, landscapes and landmarks, and era to highlight some of the best photos.

All of those different memories will be added to an online Family Legacy Account. Users will then be able to transfer the media to a Google Photos library. From there, you can use the Apple Photos alternative and some of its great features like auto-grouping and others.

Google Photos is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now for free.
