Reliable Analyst Says the 'iPhone 8' Will Launch on Time, Come in Three Colors
The “iPhone 8” will apparently launch on time right along with the “iPhone 7s” and “iPhone 7s Plus.” That’s the good news from reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities first reported by AppleInsider.
A leak earlier in the week lines up with the three colors mentioned by Kuo - gold, black, and silver.
The bad news, so to speak, is that the “iPhone 8” will launch in very limited numbers. Here’s more from the report:
Kuo’s supply chain rumblings were shared in a research note obtained by AppleInsider. The KGI analyst, who has a strong track record in predicting Apple’s future product plans, indicated that the handset will come in just three colors: black, silver and gold.
Kuo said that all three new iPhones will be announced simultaneously in September, and will share the same launch date. However, he indicated that the so-called “iPhone 8” will be in extremely short supply at launch, with the supply chain expected to produce between 2 million and 4 million units this quarter.
Also, expect all three iPhone models to support fast charging, but users will need to make an additional purchase of a Lightning to USB-C cable and adapter.
If Kuo is correct, all three handsets will be unveiled sometime in September and hit the market soon after.
