Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, writers of “The Big Sick,” are helming new TV show for Apple entitled “Little America.” That’s according to a new report from Deadline.

Here’s more about the series:

Little America is based on the true stories featured in Epic Magazine and described on the site as “a small, collective portrait of America’s immigrants — and thereby a portrait of America itself.” The TV series will go beyond the headlines to look at the funny, romantic, heartfelt, inspiring and unexpected lives of immigrants in America, at a time when their stories are more relevant than ever.

Also developing the series include Lee Eisenberg, “SMILF” executive producer, and Lee Eisenberg, co-creator of “Master of None.”

Nanjiani and Gordon are nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for “The Big Sick.”

Apple is making a big leap into original content with a number of different shows from big names including Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston. It’s unknown when Apple will provide more information about when and how the series will debut.
