WSJ: Steve Jobs Theater to Host Sept. 12 iPhone 8 Event
It’s looking increasingly likely we’ll be seeing a Sept. 12 iPhone 8 event. On Monday, The Wall Street Journal reported Apple’s fall event will be held in just over two weeks at the new 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park Campus, according to “people briefed on its plans.”
Last week, it was reported carriers were also being told the highly-anticipated event would be held on the second Tuesday of next month.
According to today’s report, the continued construction of Apple’s new headquarters could affect the timing or location of the event. For the past two years, Apple’s fall event has been held at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
Apple’s expected to announce three new handsets this year, including the 5.8-inch iPhone 8, 4.7-inch “iPhone 7s,” and 5.5-inch “iPhone 7s Plus.” Additionally, the company could use the press event to announce the fifth-generation Apple TV and third-generation Apple Watch.
With Sept. 12 now just 15 days away, I would expect press invitations for the event to go out in the coming days. Stay tuned.
