Skate City on Apple Arcade Will Add New Tokyo Expansion to Celebrate Olympics

July 20, 2021

The great Apple Arcade game Skate City is getting into the Olympic spirit with a new update that will arrive on Friday.

To celebrate the Tokyo Olympics, the skateboarding game will add the host city as a playable location.

In the update, you’ll be able to explore a number of neighborhood and other famous skate spots in the city.

There will also be more than 50 new challenges, additional decks, and leaderboards.

Ryan Cash, co-developer of Snowman, the team behind the game, talked more about the new content:

For the last few years we’ve been looking for an interesting way to tie a real-world event into something we make, but we never wanted to do anything that didn’t feel meaningful. When the Tokyo games were announced it was a no-brainer for us. Skateboarding’s coming to the Olympics for the first time in history, which is a triumphant moment for the sport. We knew we had to be part of it in some small way.

You can download Skate City now and start playing if you haven’t already before the new expansion.
