The Sling TV Cloud DVR Feature is Now Available on the iPhone and iPad
Originally landing on the Apple TV in late April, iPhone and iPad users can now take advantage of the Sling TV Cloud DVR functionality.
Costing an additional $5 per month with any subscription, iOS users will receive 50 hours of DVR storage.
Current subscribers can activate the feature by going to Sling’s site and then selecting “Add Cloud DVR.”
While not available on all channels, the feature will allow subscribers to record multiple programs at the same time without having to worry about recording conflicts.
Users can also keep the recordings as long as they subscribe to the service. If you ever reach the 50-hour capacity, older recordings will be deleted to make room for new shows. That will automatically start with shows you’ve already watched.
There are two different Sling TV packages for subscribers to select from.
Sling Orange only allows one device to be viewing content and includes 28 live TV channels including big names like ESPN, CNN, BBC America, AMC, Lifetime, TNT, and TBS. You can subscribe after the free trial for $20 per month. If you’re looking to watch more than one stream at a time, the Sling Blue service offers 44 channels for $25 per month.
A number of add-on bundles are also available for an additional cost. You can take advantage of a seven-day free trial by signing up here.
