Super Mario Run Update Brings an Easy Mode and Other Tweaks

Nintendo’s Super Mario Run has just receive a notable update with the move to version 1.1.0.

The biggest addition to one of our favorite games of 2016 is an Easy Mode. Along with unlimited bubbles to retry the level, players don’t need to deal with any time limits. That should make the game much more accessible, even to the most novice user.

Gamers will now also loose fewer Toads when the tally a loss in the Toad Rally mode. Nintendo also says that it will now be easier to gather Toads.

During a recent earnings call, according to The Wall Street Journal, Nintendo said that the game has brought in more than $50 million. While the free game has tallied more than 78 million downloads worldwide, only 5 percent of those users have paid the full $9.99 in-app purchase to unlock all of the content.

Super Mario Run is designed for both the iPhone/iPod touch and all iPad models.

And Super Mario Run is just the beginning of App Store games. Fire Emblem Heroes, based on one of the lesser-known Nintendo franchises, is set to arrive this Thursday, Feb. 2.

Set in the Fire Emblem universe, the game will feature a new storyline that sees two different kingdoms square off. Players can summon heroes from different Fire Emblems worlds.

The turn-based battle game is made specifically for a smartphone screen with each map contained in an 8×6 grid. Gamers will touch-and-drag across the grid to attack.

An Animal Crossing game is set to arrive in April or later. That’s a bit of delay as it was originally set to arrive by the end of March.
