The AppAdvice Tech Week in Review: Everything to Know About the Apple 'iPhone 7'
We’re just days away from Apple’s fall event, which begins on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. PDT. Here’s our look back at the past seven days in tech news.

The latest on the “iPhone 7”
In recent days, we’ve heard fresh rumors about the company’s next flagship device, the iPhone 7. Among the new details:
- Colors: Spacy Gray is out in 2016, as Apple elects to add two new colors: “dark black” and “piano black.”
- Storage: The iPhone 7 to be offered in 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB models.
- Performance boost: The upcoming “A10” chip features a new ‘InFo’ process, which could increase clock speeds to 2.4GHz.
- The dual-camera on the 5.5-inch “iPhone 7 Plus” will feature both a wide-angle and a telephoto lens, each 12 megapixels. Meanwhile, the flash will go from two LEDs to four.
- IPX7 rating: Your phone will survive being submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
- Display: True Tone is jumping from the 9.7-inch iPad Pro to the iPhone 7.
Still unclear: The type of headphones that will ship with the new device.

Lots of other news
There were plenty of other technology headlines over the course of the past seven days:
Apple will offer a live stream of the iPhone 7 event on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. PDT.
On the App Store
The number of titles on the App Store is shrinking thanks to Apple’s new plan to remove “problematic and abandoned” apps.
In an email to developers Apple notes:
Quality is extremely important to us. We know that many of you work hard to build innovative apps and update your apps on the App Store with new content and features. However, there are also apps on the App Store that no longer function as intended or follow current review guidelines, and others which have not been supported with compatibility updates for a long time. We are implementing an ongoing process of evaluating apps for these issues, notifying their developers, and removing problematic and abandoned apps from the App Store.
