The marketing Force is strong with this thematic tie-in between the most popular ride-hailing app in the world, Uber, and the most awaited movie of the year, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Uber’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story theme is now live, and once activated, it lets users in on special Rogue One: A Star Wars Story features and videos.
It’s an opt-in experience, though, so that only users who are OK with Uber being a promotional vessel for an already ubiquitous movie can see it. If you’re one of those users, then read on to find out how you can enable and enjoy Uber’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story theme.
Swipe up from the bottom of the main screen of the Uber app to bring up the message cards, scroll down until you come across the card for Uber’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story theme, and tap Activate.
Upon activation, Uber’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story theme replaces Uber’s vehicle images on the map with icons of starships and other vehicles from the Star Wars universe, including X-Wings and even AT-ATs. And during a ride, you can watch exclusive Rogue One: A Star Wars Story videos.
Uber’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story theme is available in “hundreds of cities globally,” according to Uber. It can be enabled and enjoyed only through Dec. 18, just a couple of days after the theatrical release of the film.
