Apple has just released tvOS 10.1 for the fourth-generation Apple TV. To download the software, go to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software on the streaming device. You can also set it to automatically download any updates as well.

A unifying experience

A unifying experience

The biggest new feature for Apple TV users in tvOS 10.1 is the TV app. To help unify the TV watching experience, the app will allow users to see all the shows and movies they are watching, find upcoming episodes, and get personalized recommendations on what to watch next. You can also view all of your iTunes videos. Probably the nicest feature is that you can start watching a show or movie directly through the app. It’s also available on iOS 10.2.

It ties in with the single sign-on feature that was recently made live for all iOS 10 and fourth-generation Apple TV devices.

Apple Watch users can also update their devices to watchOS 3.1.1.

To update your watch, open up the Apple Watch app on the iPhone and head to the My Watch tab. Select General, and then choose Software Update. Then follow the on-screen instructions.

Just to note, your watch needs to be connected to a charger and have more than 50 percent battery life remaining.

The update mainly focuses on behind-the-scenes improvements and other bug fixes.
