Use Sticker Drop to Easily Turn Any Image Into a Sticker for Messages

September 21, 2022

One of the iOS 16 features you might not know about is fun and simple. In just a few steps, you can copy the subject of any image you can imagine, whether it’s in your own Photo Library or just a random photo on the Web.

To try it out, just long press on the subject of an image that is clearly defined, and then you’ll see Copy and Share. You can then place the subject anywhere you’d like.

And the app Sticker Drop is making great use of that feature. You can lift the subject out of an image and turn in into a sticker to use while sending messages.

After copying the subject of an image, open the app and select the + from the upper left hand of the app. Then choose From clipboard. The image will then be added into the Default Sticker pack. Additionally, you can choose to add a complete image from the Photo Library.

Select the sticker to see more customization options like a description people using VoiceOver can hear what the sticker is. Other options include a border width, colors, and more.

When it’s time to use the sticker, you can open the iMessage app from the bottom row of any message. Just drag the sticker you’d like to use. You can also access the Messages app directly from Sticker Drop.

As a nice touch, you can also create additional sticker packs with your creations to share with other users of the app. To do that, just choose New sticker pack from the same + menu.

Sticker Drop is for the iPhone and a $2.99 download on the App Store now. That unlocks the entire app and all of its features. There are no in-app purchases, ads, or subscriptions.
