Lucky Luna Takes the Platformer in a New Direction
You might not know the name Snowman, but you’ll definitely remember the games from the developer. Some of the hits include Alto’s Odyssey, Alto’s Adventure, Skate City, and Where Cards Fall.
Leave the Jump Button Behind
The team behind those great games is back with a new release—Lucky Luna. It’s part of Netflix’s jump into mobile gaming. So you’ll need to subscribe to the streaming service to play.
The game takes inspiration Japanese folklore and is made as a modern take on retro arcade titles.
You’ll notice that the game isn’t your usual platformer. First up, the levels are designed from top to bottom. That matches the usual orientation of a iPhone or iPad and showcases more of the environment.
And there’s one other huge catch. The game has no jump button. That’s right, it’s a platformer with no jumping. Swipe left and right to move the protagonist Luna was she plunges deeper into the changing and treacherous environment.
Without a jump button, the game puts a fresh and exciting twist on a classic genre. It’s definitely something you’ll want to experience.
In the story mode, gamers will explore maze-like dungeons to help better understand Luna’s destiny.
For a different option, try out endless mode. That will see you plunge further into a dungeon that provides a new challenge each time.
Make sure to collect both pearls and gems while playing. With those, you can fill up a measure room and display your progress.
Keep trying to compete for a top spot in each temple and dungeon in daily, monthly, and all-time leaderboards.
There is also 100 achievements to collect in-game trophies.
Lucky Luna is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. As mentioned, you’ll need to be a Netflix subscriber to play the game. You’ll enter Netflix credentials when opening up the game.
There are no ads or in-app purchases.
Thanks to the beautiful environments, interesting story, and fun gameplay, the game is not to be missed if you’re a Netflix subscriber.
