Waze Update Brings New Hands-Free Mode, HOV Route Support
One of the best navigation apps available, Waze, has just announced a number of new features being rolled out to users with an update.
Easily the biggest addition is a new hands-free option for users in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Ireland, and New Zealand.
With an “OK, Waze” command you can accomplish a number of tasks including initiating your drive, receive a preview of the route ahead, send reports, and add a pit stop.
Next is support for HOV routes, also known in many locations as carpool lanes. The feature is available in 22 cities in the United States and Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.
Finally, motorcycle riders can take advantage of the new setting for their vehicle type. You’ll also see routes optimized for riders.
Waze is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
