Siegecraft TD ($2.99) by Crescent Moon Games is a tower defense game that challenges you to protect your castle from the evil lizards. These lizards want to eat your poor sheep. The sheep must obviously be protected due to their warm, fluffy wool. It’s up to you to build the best combinations of towers to ensure that your sheep can sleep soundly at night without fear of being eaten.
A tower defense game means that you have a base that you’re trying to protect. In this game, that base is a castle. You build various weapons along the enemy’s path. As the enemy walks by, your weapons take them down.
In this particular game, the playing field is completely open. The lizards will march straight for the castle. By placing your towers in a maze-like formation, it’ll force the lizards to march through more of your towers.
These games require a hefty amount of strategy. Where you place your weapons is very important. You’ll also need to decide if you would rather buy more towers or upgrade the ones you already have on the field. That decision really comes down to personal preference.
As you progress through the levels, you can unlock different towers. Each one has a unique ability. They’re also better suited for different types of enemies. There are 15 different towers that you can use.
If you are unable to prevent the lizards from reaching your sheep, you will lose a sheep for every lizard that attacks the castle. In the name of all that is good in this world, please protect the sheep.
There are two different difficulties that you can choose from in the campaign mode. You can play at an easy or hard difficulty. If that’s not enough of a challenge for you, you can play against your friends in the multiplayer mode.
One thing that I loved about this app were the quotes that were spoken at different intervals during the level. There were James Bond and Monty Python quotes. They were hilarious.
