The Ories: Super Space Monsters! (Free) by Assyria Game Studio is a fun-filled arcade adventure that will spin you around planets and send you hurling into the digestive track of the hungry god of the universe. Don’t worry. Players command a spaceship that is hurtling through the galaxy with no brakes and no way of slowing down. To maneuver through the obstacle course laid out for you, grab onto the gravitational pull of a nearby planet using your ship’s tractor beam. Collect space energy orbs along the way in order to feed the hungry “Orbla.”

To send your tractor beam to planets on your right, tap the virtual button on the right side of the screen. To move to the left, tap the button on the left side of the screen. When you send out your tractor beam, it will grab onto a planet and send you into an orbital spin. To get through the level, move from one planet to another, collecting space energy orbs along the way.

You are also tasked with rescuing your fellow Ories, whom are trapped inside bubbles that are also surrounding the nearby planets. When you’ve rescued enough Ories, you’ll unlock new worlds to explore.

Players can customize each level by adding special power ups, like the Buddy Radar, which notifies you when other Ories are nearby, or an Energy Shield, which protects you from sudden impact with a planet. Power ups cost Space Points that you earn for completing tasks on each level. Each power up can also be upgraded.

In addition to upgradable power ups, players can get new spaceships, unlock new Ories to play with, and add funny costumes. If you don’t want to buy Space Points through in-app purchases, you can earn them by watching videos, “liking” Ories on various social networking sites, or signing up for things through TapJoy.

This game is loads of fun with a very unique gameplay style.
