Scanbot 3.0 features iCloud Drive sync and passcode lock with Touch ID support
The popular and acclaimed iOS scanner app Scanbot has just been updated to version 3.0 with several significant improvements.
First and foremost, Scanbot 3.0 adds support for two-way syncing via iCloud Drive, Apple’s new iCloud-based file hosting service. Just go to Scanbot’s settings section to enable iCloud Drive integration in the app.
The new version of Scanbot also features improved speed and accuracy, improved grayscale and color filters, and a new magnetic manual document cropping feature that automatically snaps the cropping borders to the sides of documents.
Furthermore, Scanbot 3.0 introduces passcode protection with support for Touch ID on iOS 8. Note, though, that this new feature is part of Scanbot’s Pro upgrade. Available via in-app purchase for $4.99, Scanbot Pro also includes optical character recognition, smart file naming, and themes.

Scanbot 3.0 is available now on the App Store as a free update or as a new $1.99 download. It’s compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later.
Released for iPhone and iPod touch (and subsequently hailed with an AppAdvice App of the Week honorable mention) last April, Scanbot was updated to version 2.0 with universal support for iPad and iPad mini, along with QR code scanning support, in June.
It was previously updated about three weeks ago with support for iOS 8 and the higher-resolution screens of the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
