Tap Tap Tap Releases Voices 2, Makes Announcement Of The Return Of Camera+
December 21, 2010
Tap Tap Tap certainly seems to be a very quiet workshop, as their app updates and public status updates seem to be far and wide. Seeing as they haven't posted to their blog since August 10th, it may have caught fans off guard when they posted not one but two entries for today. One of those made an official mention of the release of Voices v2.0 and information regarding their Camera+ app.
I'll get the Camera+ mention out of the way. Removed from the App Store in less than 24 hours after a number of sites, including us, posted about an undisclosed to Apple "Easter Egg" for the VolumeSnap feature. This followed an earlier attempt to fight for a policy change using legitimate channels, but ultimately Tap Tap Tap caved to impatience and was served the wrath of Apple, Inc. Camera+ is set to reappear in the App Store once Apple's App Store review team gets finished sifting through it with a fine-toothed comb.
On a side note, for those of you who’ve been clamoring to hear some news on the ultimate photo app, Camera+, we’ve got some great stuff for you… our newest version is now finished and in review in the App Store, so it should be available anytime now. What’s new in it? Well, we’ll save that as a surprise for you, but it’s our biggest update yet. I promise that you won’t be the least bit disappointed with it, so get ready for it…The very first update to Voices, and it's been more than a year since the release, takes the app from v1.0 to a major update signifying v2.0. Is this update big? Most would likely agree with that. Significant enough for a slight name change, Voices 2 includes AirPlay and Retina display support, nine new voice effects, "much faster" performance, a new preview using an "echo' feature, the ability to share your recording via text message, and even a new curtain color. Allow me to describe how this works. After launching the app, tap on any one of the 26 voice effects provided. Swipe left or right to navigate the three main screens. Speak, sing, etc whatever you feel like, wait a moment, and listen to the "echo" playback. Once satisfied with that effect, tap on the record button in the middle of the mic. Once you've stopped recording, you'll be presented with playback controls, save, delete, and a chance to change the voice effect. After tapping Save, you are returned to the main screen. To access and share your new creation, tap on the cassette tape at the bottom. From here, you can delete recordings or share them through Twitter, Facebook, email, or a text message. Voices received a "must buy" suggestion in our original review. Along with this promising update of improvements and additions, Voices 2 is being discounted by 50% to celebrate the launch. Voices 2 is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 3.1 or later. AirPlay support requires iOS 4.2 or later. Grab your copy of Voices 2 in the App Store now for just $.99.
