TIME's Steve Jobs Issue Arrives - And It Is Amazing TIME’s “Steve Jobs Issue” is now available at newsstands and through TIME Magazine iPad app. The $4.99 issue has five sections dedicated to the late Apple co-founder, include one by Jobs’ official biographer, Walter Isaacson. Each section is truly a great read. Steve Jobs Biography Release Date Brought Forward To October 24 Following the very sad news of Steve Jobs' passing, the release date for the Apple co-founder's biography has been brought forward to October 24. According to the Associated Press (via The Next Web), Simon & Schuster has noted that the biography will be released on October 24. Currently, the book holds the number one spot on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble's websites. In an article recently published by Speakeasy, it is claimed that the author of the biography (Walter Isaacson) knew Steve's illness was terminal, and that a final interview for the book took place in the weeks before his death. Our Ultimate Shopping Guide We know many of you, enthusiasts and others, are pre-ordering today or will be standing in line for the new iPhone 4S comes next Friday. Yet, while you might have already settled on the fact that you want the newest and greatest iPhone 4S (congrats!), it might get complicated to pick the right model. Indeed, in the US, the iPhone 4S comes, just like the iPad 2, in 18 different variations across carriers. To help you decide which one should be yours, we’ve considered all the aspects and made a simple, three-stage explanation that will bring you to the right decision, one you won’t regret. AT&T Preorders Of iPhone 4S Top 200,000, Sprint And Verizon Sales Also Going Well Despite those who were disappointed that Apple did not announce an iPhone 5 or a design change, AT&T reports they had the best iPhone pre-sales ever. Within 12 hours, AT&T had over 200,000 orders for the new iPhone 4s. A company spokesperson for AT&T said this was, “the most successful iPhone launch we've ever had." The new iPhone 4S is also being released on Sprint and Verizon. It will be interesting to find out more specifics on how well these carriers do by being part of an iPhone launch from the very beginning. Verizon picked up the iPhone 4 almost eight months after its original launch and this is the first iPhone ever for Sprint. Neither one of these carriers has experience with pre-launch iPhone sales. According to a Verizon spokesperson, executives were: "pleased with the sales and the ordering process." I happened to call Verizon on the first day of pre-launch sales to ask a couple of questions. They could not guarantee I would receive the iPhone 4S on October 14. The representative said they had so many orders they did not know for certain what their supply levels were and they no longer could make the guarantee. By early evening, their website said shipping of the iPhone 4S 16 GB model was delayed to October 20, 2011. iPhone 4S Service Plans Comparison Chart With preorders for the iPhone 4S launching today, and new multi-carrier availability including Sprint, AT&T and Verizon, you might be wondering which carrier is offering the best deal when it comes to plans. To help you figure it out, MacRumors put together a chart which shows all the plans and options, and we have included it above. As you'll notice, competition hasn't really had much impact on plan prices yet, and it's still fairly expensive. However, the addition of Sprint does give you a slightly less expensive option, if their less extensive coverage isn't an issue for you. If you're looking for a more complete chart, Apple has one of its own, but it's not as clear as the one above. Yet, if you're really on the edge, it's worth checking out.
