Shoot For The Gold Against Worldwide Competitors In Slingshot Racing's Online Multiplayer Matches
August 9, 2012
Announced a couple of weeks ago, the first major update to Slingshot Racing has arrived. As noted, the primary addition is online multiplayer support. Although, it seems Crescent Moon and Snowbolt Interactive were able to toss in a handful of other goodies before sending v1.1 off to the App Store review team.
Complementing the previously available local multiplayer option, online multiplayer utilizes Games Center to allow races consisting of one to three friends, one to three auto-matched strangers, or a mix of the two. Races are completed in an asynchronous or turn-based fashion, where each player strives to achieve the best race time.
The experience reminds me a lot of DrawRace 2, but with customization abilities and no opponent replay for comparison. Both local and online multiplayer modes grant customization of track, lap amount, race direction, and night or day selection.
In addition to the online multiplayer feature, Slingshot Racing v1.1 includes a "Bonus" single player career campaign, 2 new tracks for single and mutliplayer races, plus performance and AI improvements.
Get your free update to v1.1 now or finally jump in on the action on the cheap. Slingshot Racing is a universal app compatible with iPad, second generation iPad, third generation iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 32GB and 64GB third generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod touch and newer running iOS 4.1 or later, and available in the App Store for the limited time sale price of just $0.99.
