Silent Film Director Goes Free Ahead Of Imminent Update And Relaunch As Vintagio

August 16, 2012
Since it’s release in April last year, Silent Film Director has been one of the most acclaimed video apps designed for iPhone and iPod touch. As such, it has found its way to a lot of users’ devices. But if you happen to be one of the users who, for some reason, don’t have Silent Film Director yet, then you’re in luck. Now is the perfect time to finally download Silent Film Director to your iPhone, your iPod touch, or even your iPad. That’s because from today until Sunday, Aug. 19, Silent Film Director is available in the App Store for absolutely free. It used to go for $2.99, but now you can have it at no cost. What’s more, if you get the app now, you as well as the many others who already have it are eligible to upgrade to Vintagio for free. Vintagio is the upcoming new version of Silent Film Director. Expected to be released by the end of next week, Vintagio is touted as the “iMovie for retro videos.” MacPhun, the development company behind Silent Film Director, actually has an interesting history of updating and rebranding its apps. Just last month, it relaunched Color Splash Studio as ColorStrokes. And Silent Film Director itself used to be known as Vintage Video Maker. So, to recap MacPhun’s trilogy of retro video apps: from Vintage Video Maker to Silent Film Director to Vintagio. Vintagio will be priced at $2.99. But, as mentioned, you can update to it next week free of charge if you get Silent Film Director now, also free of charge.
