Shoot Your Own Film Noir Masterpiece With KitCam's New Films, Lens And Frames
January 28, 2013
The relatively new but nonetheless popular camera app KitCam has recently received another update.
Roughly ten days after it got its 1.3 update, which brought various improvements, KitCam has already come across its 1.4 update.
While KitCam's latest update is clearly not as huge as the previous one, it does bring a neat expansion pack called Film Noir.
The Film Noir pack comprises three new films, one lens, and four frames. As the pack's name suggests, you can use these to make your photos look like they're straight out of a dark thriller or detective film.
The three new films are, as expected, black and white, and they provide medium to high contrast. They are called GB XR3, GB Theta, and GB KC5.
For its part, the new lens adds soft film grain and an adjustable vignette to your photos. It's called DeCarlo.

And then there's the set of four new frames ideal for black and white photos. They're called Pinot, Blanche, Harman, and Victor.
The three films, one lens, and four frames in the Film Noir pack are all available via a $1.99 in-app purchase.
Also including several bug fixes, KitCam 1.4 is available now in the App Store as a free update or as a new $1.99 download.
In our original review, Christine Chan deemed KitCam "a worthy and complete iPhone photography solution." And after earning an honorable mention in our AppAdvice App of the Week feature, it went on to be one of our Top 10 Paid iPhone Apps for 2012.
