Zynga Charges Into The Classic Arcade Action Arena With Battlestone
May 24, 2013
A couple of weeks ago, Zynga carried out the global launch of its first foray into endless running, the AppAdvice Game of the Week honoree Running with Friends. Now, the well-known social game publisher has also globally launched its first foray into classic arcade action gaming, Battlestone.
Developed by November Software, which Zynga acquired last November (really), Battlestone is a hack-and-slash game set in a beautifully crafted 3-D world of mystical heroes and malevolent foes.

In the game, you have to produce various swiping attacks in order for your heroes to take down the enemies. And as you progress through the game, you get to unlock a character collection system that lets you summon new heroes and upgrade their powers using Battlestones.
Furthermore, you get to strategically swap heroes on the fly so that you may deploy the right heroes for the right challenges.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 5.0 or later, Battlestone is available now in the App Store as a free-to-play game.
Enhanced with built-in guilds and weekly guild tournaments, the game lets you play in PvP mode to win more of the titular object. Note, though, that you can always swipe out enemies in Battlestone in single-player mode.
