This Week In Accessories: Remote Control Fun

June 21, 2013
Welcome back to This Week in Accessories. Here are four of the latest companions for your iOS devices.

Harmony Ultimate Hub from Logitech

Logitech’s new Harmony Ultimate Hub helps turn your iPhone into a universal remote control for all of your home theater equipment. Compatible with more than 225,000 devices, users can download the free Harmony app and consolidate up to eight remotes onto one iPhone screen. The unique Smart State technology remembers your devices power and input settings to automatically adjust them depending on what task you need to complete. And since the system uses both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the hub can control devices inside cabinets or behind walls. The system will retail for $99.99 and should be available in August. For more information about the hub, visit Logitech’s site.

The PRETTY GRITTY Collection from OGIO

Specially engineered with women in mind, OGIO has recently unveiled its PRETTY GRITTY collection of bags – the Monaco Messenger Bag, Lisbon Tote Bag, and Triana Backpack. Each bag features fleece padded interior compartments and is designed to hold a variety of devices like a smartphone, tablet, and laptop. Built-in closures and zip pockets protect your items while still providing easy and quick access. All three of the bags are available in a number of colors, like the pictured blue Lisbon tote, and retail for $100 each. They can be purchased now on OGIO’s site.

Pocket Toddy from Toddy Gear

Putting a spin on the original Toddy Cloth, Toddy Gear’s new Pocket Toddy is a 5 x 7-inch cleaning cloth that can be folded into a built-in pocket from travel storage and iOS device cleaning. Made with dual-sided microfiber plush and microfiber silk, the cloth can even be attached to a keychain, backpack, or purse with an elastic tab. You can snag a Pocket Toddy for $9.99 directly from Toddy Gear. It’s available in three different prints – Nantucket, Luxe, and Filter.

NanoTek Stand from Bracketron

While I’m still waiting for my SETA Smartphone Stand, Bracketron has recently unveiled a similar product. Its NanoTek stand securely grips both a desk and pretty much any other device with a mounting technology that leaves no residue. A device can also be placed in either horizontal or vertical position. Made from aircraft grade aluminum, the stand is easily portable and also has an integrated cable management system to keep your desk neat and free of clutter. Available in either silver or black, the stand retails for $34.99 and can be purchased from BestBuy.com or on Bracketron’s site.
