Vine Further Teases Upcoming New Features Ahead Of Instagram Video Launch
June 20, 2013
Vine has been teasing some of its upcoming new features since, coincidentally or not, rumors of the imminent launch of Instagram's video-sharing capabilities began making the rounds. And just a few hours ago, Vine cofounders Dom Hoffman and Rus Yusupov teased a number of unspecified, unreleased features for the popular video-sharing app using — what else? — Vine videos or "vines."
Take a look at their trio of teaser vines below:
As noted by AllThingsD's Mike Isaac, the Twitter-owned service may be teasing the addition of full-screen videos, text overlays, private messaging, and clip reordering, among other possible enhancements. Or as Vine puts it, "some exciting new parts."
Yesterday, the Vine team thanked its creative community of at least 13 million users with a clever claymation vine. Also, it announced that it will be introducing "some exciting new parts" of Vine over the next few weeks.
Vine's announcement comes shortly after AllThingsD confirmed that Instagram is set to launch a video feature at Facebook's press event tomorrow.
Vine was released last January on iOS and just a couple of weeks ago on Android. Its most recent update, which arrived yesterday, brought a new share button underneath posts, along with other interface improvements and bug fixes.
