Olloclip Companion Camera App Gains One-Tap Sharing, Auto-Saving And More

July 22, 2013
Olloclip for iOS has just received a notable update. Released late last May, Olloclip for iOS is designed to work in conjunction with the popular “quick-connect lens solution” of the same name, which includes Fisheye, Wide-Angle, and Macro lenses. For more information on the Olloclip three-in-one lens accessory, specifically its version for iPhone 5, check out Bryan's product review here on AppAdvice. Olloclip for iOS, which is essentially an iOS companion camera app for the aforementioned accessory, has just been updated with several improvements. First off, the app now offers one-tap sharing of photos via email, Twitter, Facebook, and other sharing channels. It now also includes an option to automatically save every photo you take. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. In addition, the app now includes an improved tutorial for first-time users detailing how to use the Mesh Editor tool, which adjusts the curve-like effect brought about by conversion lenses. Finally, the latest update to Olloclip for iOS allows the use of the manual focus and exposure reticles in videos. The new version of the Olloclip app is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.1 or later. A couple of weeks ago, Olloclip announced a new 2x telephoto lens that comes with a circular polarizing filter as well as the ability to zoom in on photo subjects. Available at Apple Retail Stores later this month and at Best Buy next month, the lens is priced at $99.99 and is designed to work with iPhone 5 in one version and with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPod touch in another.
