Readmill Update Adds PDF Highlighting, Profile Viewing And Email Sharing
July 20, 2013
If you've been following my posts long enough here on AppAdvice, then you should already know that my favorite e-reading app is not iBooks, not even Kindle, but this little app that could called Readmill. Of course, I'm delighted every time a major update arrives for Readmill. And this time, I'm even more delighted than usual since the latest Readmill update brings not one, not even two, but three significant new features.
First off, thanks to its latest update, Readmill now supports PDF highlighting.
"We know you’ve all been waiting for this, but it’s finally here," says the Readmill team. "You can now highlight all of your PDFs. We think this will be a great feature for anyone who’s reading a lot of articles, study papers and other long-form content that is only available in this format. Go crazy!"
Another improvement brought by the new update is a new look and feel for Readmill profiles. Now you can find out what other Readmill users are reading, see who are following them, and even follow them right from the app. What's more, you can now edit your profile right within the app.
Finally, the new Readmill update adds the ability to share highlights via email, in addition to sharing via Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr.
The new version of Readmill is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later.
Readmill was released in June 2011 as an app optimized for iPad only. But it finally gained universal support for iPhone and iPod touch last February.
Last month, Readmill was updated with a new Explore section that presents free e-books that can be downloaded straight to the app.
